GMail/Firefox problems

I went on to EBay, and it came up in text form, telling me that there had been a change, and to update my browser.

I use Firefox, and was led to an update, from 1st Feb. Having updated, i now get an error message 'can't find server at mail.google.com', and cannot access Google, or Gmail, or funnily enough Ebay. Maybe it is some sort of Firewall problem... I use Sygate.

I will find out tomorrow if I can get my Gmail account from a remote PC., but HELP!!!!

Thanks

    Silly point....I dont know!

I disabled IE when the PC kept on getting infected, and I think it had something to do with ActiveX???? but I no longer have the problems.

Yes....I have just tried and got Google 1st time.

Also, just tried ebay, and again, got it, but in a very condensed version?

I've had that before using Opera. Not sure why, it usually goes back to the normal graphic version after doing a refresh or two.

Good idea stopping the use of IE but you'll find it harder to update Windows because the Windows Update site needs IE.
