Toshiba Satellite Pro 100 - went totally silent...so I reinstalled the drivers (and updates with driver detective) and it now whispers at me!
Any ideas on how to get the sound back to its usual levels please?
many thanks

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Just turn the volume up higher -the default may be at a lower level than you had it set before you reinstalled. No free lunch, and no free laptop

How are you adjusting it?-try the sound control in Control Panel, not just the sound control on the keyboard. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Several years ago, a friend bought his new laptop to me (Sony Vaio I think) with the same problem. I spent hours installing new drivers, twaekingthings etc & generally getting nowhere. I eventually handed it back to him & suggested he return it under warranty when he (not me) noticed an almost invisible thumbwheel dial on the front of the case. yes you guessed it - a volume controlChris Elvin0
