What! This is madness I started this a week before him?! Why just ignore me! Why let him take all of the credit for something I started!?

    Hi mcoletta,

Why don't you see if a board guide will merge the threads? It doesn't matter to me which thread I update my savings on... what do others think?

Well, I've done quite well over the last week or so, managed to save another £2.20, but still need more to enable me to buy some merchandise of my favourite band at the end of the month... will see if I can swap some with OH later as he saves all of his small change (he says it weighs his pockets down too much!)

    Hi mcoletta

Please don't take this doubling-up of the 20p savers club personally. I don't think that any of us who have joined miseter's challenge intended to ignore you or deliberately "chose" miseter in preference to you. Personally, I never saw your original thread when I joined, and as I was the 21st person to join, I presume that the next 30 people probably didn't see it either. :o

Looking back through your thread (and I have taken the time to click on the link you have posted here and read through all 4 pages...so I am still not ignoring you ;) ) I think that maybe it wasn't so clear that people were joining in and collecting with you - there seem to be a lot of replies about how and what other people collect (in a sock, in a bottle, in a pig; 50ps, coppers, 5ps, etc, etc). This is in no way a bad thing, as your thread obviously inspired others to either start their own collections or continue with ones they already had in place, and surely encouraging people to save anything in any way is a bonus... :T

However, the other thing I noticed is that until last night (when you obviously noticed miseter's thread and posted here drawing people's attention to it) is that the last post which had been made on your original thread (including by yourself) was on 1st March, which is over three weeks ago. This obviously explains why it had probably dropped off the first few pages, and therefore why most of us hadn't found it. Additionally, if I had found it, I admit I probably would have thought that it had reached its "natural conclusion" after a couple of weeks without new posts, and although I would have been interested to read it, I wouldn't have bothered to post a reply after so long without any "action" :o . If you look back through this thread, there have been new posts added every day (by miseter if nobody else) which keeps it in the top couple of pages, and therefore in view of most people. Also, miseter regularly posts member lists, together with totals saved, etc - rather in the style of Greenfingers £2 savers thread - which has created a feeling of camaraderie among the "savers".

Anyway, this explanation is much longer than I intended it to be  , so I shall stop now, but I just wanted to try and explain why I think this "doubling up" has happened and to make sure that you realise that it was in no way a personal attack on you and your efforts. Since I have been posting here, one of the things I notice about the DFW board is that everybody is very encouraging and supportive, and there is no back-biting or nastiness, so please, please, please do not take this double thread issue personally.

Wow piglet, I thought your last post was very eloquent! :) I agree with all you've said and just wish I could express myself properly through the medium of text! :o

Awwww, thanks, Callisto (blushing now!! :o ) - not sure if its eloquence or waffle really, but thought I'd give it a go! Hate to think that mcoletta thinks we're all picking on him/her...
