No Claims Discount on House Insurance

Hi.
I see that with car insurance one can 'carry over' accumulated no-claims discount for up to 2 years (sometimes 3) without a continuous policy in place. Is this the same with house insurance?
Many thanks

It will depend upon the insurer and what they have allow.
However, I think that home insurers tend to be more cautions and look for more continuous insurance. For example, a product I have in front of me now will only recognise NCD provided the previous policy expired not more than 6 weeks prior to inception of the new one.
A broker would know more, or just ring a few insurers who you find give you the cheapest quotes for the level of cover you are looking for.0 -
Dogbot is right, very few companies will allow no claims discount on a home insurance unless it is continuous unless there is a very very good reason. In fact a lot of companies will not cover people if there is a gap gap of more than a couple of months between their last policy and the new policy0
