Late turf delivery & rights, pleeeeaase help

Hi,

I'd really appreciate some help. I ordered some turf to be delivered on Thursday last week, it didn't show up. I emailed the company asking them to look into it. I got back today (Tuesday) to find a note through my door and a full pallet of turf about 4 metres away on the road.

No contact, no email, no phone call.

The turf is also yellow, so was probably cut to be delivered for the original day. I am also a single parent, so I arrived back late today, with 2 very very tired children, a boot full of shopping and a pallet of turf to shift. To top it all my dad is no longer available to lay the turf (which he was going to do easter weekend and may be able to do this weekend, but obviously, it's still 3 days away).

Thankfully, parents to the rescue, who came round to help me, it still took the best part of an hour to shift. There is no way I could have done that on my own (or rather it would've taken me all night to do).

Where do I stand? I'm really really annoyed with them.

    Hmm.

    Sounds like a right old mess.

    Have you paid for it yet? I assume that it was payment in advance?

    If so how did you pay? Credit Card?That might allow you the opportunity of a charge back.

    Have you spoken to the supplier yet? They may be willing to collect, reschedule and replace.....

    I paid by credit card. By morning light it looks even worse (I had to laugh) It's yellow and patchy (the odd patch being a very nice green colour, but mostly yellow grass and bare bits).

    I've taken pictures, I'm going to contact them later, I think I'm going to ask for a refund or replacement (although I'm not sure I want their replacement if it's the same quality).

    They have offered a full refund. I was all set to get very stroppy, but I only got to ticked off, lol. The one time I prepared what I was going to say before I phoned and they were really nice :-)

    They offered a replacement as well if I wanted, but shifting the turf back onto the pallet really didn't appeal.
