To the-OP.Companies do hide under T&Cs and I agree sometimes they are buried in the small print.I would put it down as a good learning experience and be more vigilant in future.But thanks for posting.I am not going anywhere near that website !0

To the OP-there is an interesting article in the Times about Foxtons Estate Agency charging commission from landlords even when they have moved to another agency.Basically,the judge has said that such important terms must be flagged up prominently not just in the contract but also in the sales literature.

Simon P, I think you missed my point. I was suggesting that rogue traders should not be given an EFT merchant ID in the first place. If a rogue trader scams a customer, the CC issuer can then reimburse the customer, and reclaim *their* losses from the acquirer. A vigilant acquirer shouldn't allow a company like this to take card payments in the first place.
Isn't this one of the reasons why people tend to use credit cards for online purchases these days... for some peace of mind?
I'm not saying that Joe public shouldn't take some responsibility. But I believe it's all about balance and fairness. On the other hand, some people - such as yourself - see this as a totally black and white issue, and judge that Joe public is always at fault and deserves to be defrauded. This outlook is intriguing.
And BTW, I'm always happy if my CC company calls me and says they're not sure about a transaction I've put through. I'd rather they were vigilant than lax, and I certainly don't "whinge" about it.
And finally, yes, I do know about 3D Secure... I currently earn a living by writing and integrating POS software.0 -
I have been looking for a replacement ac adaptor for an HD camera.
Came across a great deal with Superezstore and wondered why it was half the price offered anywhere else. It seemed too good to be true so decided to check the place out on google and came across this thread.
I will definitely go to Sony to get my adaptor, we are all tempted by a bargain, but this probably isnt.
