Restricted selling

I've been taking advantage of the free listings up to 99p and trying to get rid of stuff I've been hoarding, now I've had restrictions placed on my account. I've had this message from ebay:

Attention Seller:Thank you for choosing eBay.
In order to help maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are occasionally placed on listings. At this time, you are limited in the number of certain items you may list and/or revise in a 30 day period.

Sellers who have built a long-standing and consistent positive history of selling items may be eligible to have their selling limits raised.
We sincerely value you as a member of our trading Community and look forward to a continued successful relationship with you.

I've got feedback of over 600 buying and selling, I can't even set the auction to start at a later date so all my time spent writing the listing has been wasted.
Any ideas how I can change this?

TIA

Can you save you stopped auctions by downloading them into turbo lister?

How many do you have listed? Could that be why they've done this?

Are you 100% certain it's not a spoof email; someone try to get access to you account

I had this message after selling a number of beauty products of the same brand. I list using Auctiva so just saved the listings and relisted after the 30 day period elapsed. I was able to sell other stuff in the interim, just nothing of that particular brand name.

I've only got 27 items listed and have sold about 15 items in the past few weeks.
I haven't tried turbo lister so don't know if that would work.
I'm certain its not a spoof email, I can get to the final page before it won't let me list my item.
    Very frustrating!

  • Only way around it is to contact ebay asking them to lift the restrictions. They may say no but try again at a later date.

Totally agree, this has happened to me too, but the restriction does not apply to everything you are listing. Only thing I find strange is that I can understand Ebay not allowing you to list more of these items, but I cant see why you cant relist an item that hasnt sold or alter the price of an item that is already listed????

Have you got a card registered for paying your fees automatically as that can lift selling restrictions. With no automatic way to take fees blocks are placed on sellers.

yes I've got a credit card set up to take the fees.

I think it is just in certain categories, I've got nail products, perfume and various toiletries that's just taking up space that I'd like to sell and they are different makes but do come under health and beauty.

Hmm, looks like I'll just have to wait 30 days then!

    Thanks for all your sugegstions.

  • I had this problem over the Xmas period and went suitably mental.

I found the way around it was to work out what the keyword that was blocked and then omit it in the title line but still put it in drop down description block.

Worked a treat as they still all showed when I did a keyword search.

Thanks I've just tried that and I've been able to list one item as a test! :j
