Am I paying too much?
Options
Hi! I am new so apologies if this has been covered time and time again...
I moved into my one bedroom flat last October and arranged a DD for my electricity (no gas) of £50 per month, thinking this would be ample. I use economy 7 heating and water with London Electricity. I don't think I use anything excessively, I have a washing machine and dishwasher which I use twice per week maximum and it's just me there! However my bill for the last quarter was £146, which is fine as it's within budget but I am worried that any price rise will obliterate that! Can you suggest how many units I should be using and how I can reduce this?

Welcome to MSE! :j
Your payments of £600 per annum should easily cover the costs for a one-bed flat. You may want to get a refund any account credit after your second winter, when you know what your using per annum, and adjust your payment accordingly.
A quarterly bill of £146 for arguably the coldest quarter of the year sounds reasonable, even after being subjected to the current price rises. Bear in mind that the spring/summer quarters will have little or no heating on them - probably less than half the cost of your winter quarters.
If you want to reduce electricity usage, you need to look at insulation first, loft insulation if you have a loft, draught exclusion, and a good insulation jacket on your hot water cylinder.
