Best for USA

in Credit cards
Hiya,
I just wondered if any of you guys/gals know the best credit card to take and use in USA.
I may want to hire a car and will need 1 for security (will I?) and I think its probably easier to use a card in restaurants rather than have a fist full of dollars.
I will be paying off the balance on return as I'll only spend up to what my holiday spends are.
Any tips welcomed. Any cracking cards I should tink about welcome, and certainly any I should avoid would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance and on the day too:T

I live in the States. Visa is the most used and accepted card here. A valid personal ID is all you you will need.I was shocked how much I was able to save just by living below my means.0

Abbey Zero has been pulled for new applications unfortunately. However there are rumours that it will be back on sale in a few months for the summer holiday season.moggitymog wrote: »we used the abbey zero card last month when in the USA have a look at that one0 -
just got a Post Office Platinum Card, used it in a restaurant, entered the pin in twice, the owner said the machine was not working so I paid cash but been charged twice on my statement, really struggling with the Post Office customer services for disputed transactions, sent them a letter which they said they did not receive so sent them another one, I think this one will run and run

The Nationwide card is the next best, used to be the best with the Flexaccount debit card, but the credit crunch and Visa have forced them to start charging 0.87% from May ( still free in Europe).
Plus it is local, unlike the Post Office one being Irish.
