Help - Unmarketable House due to problem neighbours

I find it extremely annoying that these types are living off my taxes. I would probably round up the rest of the neighbours and see who's up for taking it further.
You should look on the neighbours from hell website for details about what to do next.0 -
It is refreshing to hear that not all HA operate in the same way - I think it is terrible that certain individuals can ruin the reputation of other tenants. It has certainly made us totally adamant that we are not going to live anywhere near any HA properties in the future....0

Some friends of ours were renting a flat in a new development,. It was about 50/50 private rentals and owner occupiers, and 50% housing association tenants.
Unfortunately the estate was plagued with antisocial behaviour. Vandalised cars, theft, burglaries, the police always out for domestics. It didnt take a forensic detective to work out where it was all coming from and where it wasnt.
I got the impression that the trouble makers thought the property of the "normal" people on the estate was an irresistable and legitimate target, and the trouble was actually worse than if they'd just all been in one place.
I hate to say it but I wouldnt voluntarily live within a mile of council housing.0 -
We are still oncourse for D day on the 15th May, notice which has been given to the tenant to remove the caravan. In anticipation of them digging their heels in, which I think that they will undoubtedly do, I am trying to drum up a bit of support and encourage friends and neighbours in the area to correspond their thoughts. I did say as much to the HA this morning, and they tried to tell me this amounted to harassment, which they take VERY seriously!!!!! Gobsmacked to say the least. Still at least we know where their priorities lie.....0

...have you thought of getting the local press on your side?0

This does not surprise me! I had the same problem with my neighbours they were loud and rubbish was piling up in the garden so I rang the council and nothing. I then contacted the landlord nothing. So i wrote them a letter not harrasing at all just basically asking if they could keep the noise down after 10pm and the landlord accused me of being a racist because they dont speak english??? (I AM NOT BTW!) :eek:0 -
Can anyone please help. We have had problems with a local housing association tenant ever since they moved in next to us 4 years ago. Abusive anti-social behaviour, rubbish everywhere, scrapped cars on driveway etc - despite the complaints to the Housing Association, nothing every done.
Last year they moved a large twin axle caravan into their small rear garden, for use of their two teenage daughters to sleep/entertain in - we complained to the HA, but were told nothing could be done....
A month ago, they shoehorned/moved in a HUGE 45ft long static caravan/mobile home, into the garden, taking up over half of the garden and space into their driveway. Its a monster, looms 4 ft over our 6' fence panels with its three side windows. Housing Association duly notified, seem reluctant to do anything, is not UNBELIEVABLY breaching any planning conditions.
I think it is now the tenants goal to make our lives as unbearable as possible, we are being intimidated everytime we leave the house - is there anyway out of the hopeless situation?
You need to involve the police and the council in terms of the anti social behaviour. The caravan is not their concern, but the anti social behaviour and abuse is. Speak to your PCSO or local Beat Officer (you can get details of who it is if you call the plods). Keep up the pressure and ask for them to arrange a multi agency meeting once you have complained for long enough. Your other neighbours may be willing to go down this route as the police and council will not reveal details of complainants.0 -
