The council may also be exceptionally busy with gritting roads and keeping roads clear.
Replacing stationary objects would be low priority.
so surely there should have been barriers surrounding them so drivers would aware of the hazard. and as there were previous accidents, then it should have been a priority0 -

It's already been mentioned in this thread but cones and other warning signs are regularly removed by drunks/idiots to be used as hats/sledges/sold as scrap/etc.
if a sign is removed then the council does not become aware immediately and if the police or public don't inform the council, they won't know until they go to do a repair.

My tuppence worth....on looking at the first picture, there would appear to be a "cross hatched" paint area, where the lines designating an area like this are "broken" you can drive through this area...the lines in the first photo bordering this area would appear to be "solid" in which case, it is an offence to drive in this area...if you have driven in this area and gone over bollards or "stumps" of bollards, your car should not have been there, there may be a case of "driving without due care and attention" or whatever its called nowadays, the council may even have a case for reclaiming the cost of damage to "street furniture"....
you need better photos and you need legal advice....and sometime you have to accept responsibility for your own c0ckup$
where have the night time photos gone?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

after being called an idiot (albeit indirectly) for stating a few facts i would point out that you claimed in 3 posts that you hit bollards then claimed you didn't.
You claimed there were no kerbs "just concrete lumps" then posted 3 nightime pictures of a central reserve clearly showing kerbs. you then posted a daytime photo showing a kerb too.
with all due respect, if you want genuinely helpful answers to your questions, then be truthful, honest and less insulting.

Another case of not bothering to read properly.
THEY WERE ALREADY DAMAGED
Another case of not bothering to read properly.
I know but if you go back you can read Torby's post again and get it right this time. Read the stuff immediately just prior to the bits of their post that you quoted. If you disagree with that or have some reason why that doesn't apply in your case that's fair enough, but I'd suggest they're correct to some degree at the very least. If you enter areas of the road you're not supposed to be in, you do have to accept a certain amount of responsibility for what happens next.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

OP's Daughter:- Here's a thought (although its probably too late to do anything about it) was the car that you were passing parked correctly? Were they too close to the big kerbs to allow you to pass by without going into the hatched area (regardless of speed)?
Believe it or not I am actually sympathetic to your plight (now that I know you hit a kerb and not a bollard) and would be very annoyed if it happened to me - I'd also see if I could get somebody else to cough up or the damage but am realistic enough to know at the end of the day !!!!!! happens.0 -
no wonder the OP hasnt bothered coming back on here!
no help at all!0
