Not on the electoral role, considered going bankrupt, turned down for a card, has a score of 956 !

    Sniff Sniff !!

You DO NOT get a so called score of 956 without being on the electoral role or without being financially stable ! Your other posts clearly state you've considered bankrupcy, suggesting you've had money problems. Who are you trying to kid ?

    Quick bankrupcy question.
Hello all. First time poster, but long time lurker!! I have a qucik question for you!
If I was to become bankrupt, would they take our 2 cars from us?
The cars are both on HP in my name, and I use one and my partner uses the other. I use my extensively for work (I get a car allowance), and my partner uses hers to get to work and back, which is 20 miles each way, in the country?
So if the worst happened, what would happen to these cars? (They both are probably worth less than is owed).

    Hi there,
we're just going through this ourselves. If both cars are in your name, your second car will be your Asset (therefore theirs). Whatever you go to work in should be safe as you need it to get back and forth. (depends what you drive, not sure if that would affect it) You'll probably have the option of buying your other car back of them. So hopefully all is not lost. Good luck

I have posted questions on here for friends and my partner as well as myself. Who the question actually relates to is irrelevent, I just wanted to know the answer.

    Hi Money Fool.

I sent my form off to the local authority last August (2008) to be added to the electoral roll, they confirmed in September I would be added but it wasn't until December that the CRA's updated their records.

I hope this provided some clarity to your original question.;)

If you are ex directory, do you still appear on the edited version of the electoral roll? Which version of the ER do agencies check, full/rolling, edited versions?

Until 2001, the whole register was for sale. Now there are two lists, the edited register (which is sold to anyone who wants to buy and which may be viewed in a public library) and the full version (which isn't sold, but which may be inspected at a local electoral registration office.)

Ticking the box removes you from the list that's sold, but does not affect your credit rating because the credit reference agencies use the full version.

Btw, not being on the edited register can sometimes cause a problem if you apply for credit from a retailer. A firm, such as Currys for instance, may conduct its credit search using the edited register.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
