Umm .... I think I *may* have found a MOC (but I'm not sure).

I've been doing the usual daily browse of t'internet searching for MOCs and I have come across something which I haven't seen before. It's actually a 'media pack' by a publishing company who produce MOC leaflets for insertion in regional newspapers, and they had a PDF showing MOCs which they had previously produced, presumably this media pack being something they use to try and get more business. But it did include real MOCs they have sent out recently. Most of them were rubbish, but one was a 99 barcoded one for £1.50 off a well-known spirit, redeemable via Valassis with proper codes on it and everything, and an expiry date of 26 May 2009.

I used the grab feature on my Mac to extract the MOC, and enlarged it a bit. The wording on the MOC and the barcode are both extremely clear, though the picture of the bottle of hooch is a bit blurry. It says it is "available to all residents of mainland GB aged 18 or over except employees of the promoter" Wot do we all think? Can we use it (given that it's a screen grab rather than a downloadable MOC, and all that furore over using screen grabs from the London Metro newspaper in the past etc etc). But £1.50 is mighty tempting, and it *does* seem properly valid ......

If the concensus of opinion is positive, I'll post the URL. Pls discuss ....... (also pls do not shout at me).

Thanks for the well-thought out post and for trawling for new mocs, CJ!

Can you let us know exactly which Hooch/Spirit it is for please? Maybe one of us can locate the website if it's meant to be printed.

There were some £1.50 off spirits mocs in March in regional newspapers, but they were printed in the paper (not internet printable). Maybe you've seen a PDF of one of those, which would not be OK I'm afraid?

Am off to work now but IMHO possibly this won't be OK to use. Screen prints have not been OK before and it sounds like it may not be intended for internet printing.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Reminder for a 50p moc,as there is such a dearth of them at the mo........inside some of the schwarz herb boxes cost usually 80p or so, is a 50p moc, clearly marked on the outside of the box.
worth buying a few with your other mocs;)
There a 50p moc in todays Best for Schartz, so if you like the mag it will only cost you 37p( use a moc) then you get an 80p moc back...

    Hi Coupon-mad

It's for Archers Peach Schnapps, which according to the wording on the MOC is marketed on behalf of The Archers Schnapps Company by a company called Diageo GB Ltd. I can't seem to find a website for the product though.

CJ if it could be used it'd very useful & the drought of MOC could sway some peoples decisions.
I guess it will be treated the same as the £5 Walls MOC that was on the scout leaders PDF document so would assume that this will be a no go MOC...BOOOOOOO.

If it's OK to run then I'd use it as my pile is almost bone dry but I am thinking it'll be a no.

Well done for spotting it & taking the time to post a sensible scenario. I doubt you get flamed for being cautious.

Thanks :) I like to avoid flaming wherever possible.

Actually the PDF I found has two x £1.50 MOCs: one for Archers Peach Schnapps and one for Captain Morgan Rum (yarr, me hearties!) so it'll be a shame not to have £3 worth of printables valid until the end of the month. But I'm guessing it's a no-no, or else the marketing company would have them more freely available than this. B ugger.
