MY recent holiday in the states cost me a fortune in calls from my contract phone,4 calls for £75.00 which is ridiculous to say the least. So has anyone used the Global sim cards ? Can they be used in any phone or does the phone have to be unlocked,im on the three network.
Or what is the best network for use in the USA as i may consider a cheap pay as you go .

Shameless bump! I'm off to the USA for five weeks in the summer and would be interested to hear advice on this. (Two overprotective and IT illiterate parents will require frequent phonecalls!

if you have an unlocked phone, you can walk into an AT&T store, and get a Go Phone sim, top it up there, and use that to call back home on. then you know exactly what you're spending.
$100 credit lasts for 12 months, so if you think you're going back within the year, it might be worth doing that.
$19.99 gives you 100mb of data allowance too, so you can surf the net etc on your phone too..0
