State-of-the-art technology stored the cardholders’ details – including their sort code, account number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) – allowing fraudsters to clone their cards within minutes.

More than 250 drivers have joined an online group warning other motorists of the card-cloning operation.

A chip and pin fraudster has been jailed for four-and-a-half years after being caught with £35 million of skimmed credit card details,
7,000 of which were stolen from customers at the Shell garage at Blue Bell Hill, Maidstone.
