Woolworths Germany goes bust

Well now I don't like to harp on (much) about Cleaver's mistakes but I can't stand you covering for him. He implied it wasn't already 'called' VoolVorths when quite clearly that is exactly what the German's would say, due to their pronunciation. "Shouldn't it be called VoolVorths" he said, when it already is. I suspect that it was a joke using the W and V confusion that the Germans 'suffer' from.Jennifer_Jane wrote: »So, isn't that why Cleaver said 'Shouldn't it be called Voolvorths?'

(The silly smiley is to show that I'm not that pedantic about it).

I don't want you to think I've been waiting for this day, when he might slip up. But I may just have a sip of something expensive and sparkly. (Tango Lemonade)0 -

Just to show how excessively Global we all are, this is from the Woolworth South Africa website (to be honest this has been on their website for several months now):
Woolworths SA does not have any relationship with Woolworths in the UK. There have been a number of reports in the media about their uncertain future. This has no impact on Woolworths SA..

Actually, it's a sister company to M&S.

I actually have missed our woolworths for the first time over this weekend, I have missed being able to snap up all those bargain unsold easter eggs.0
