Headset or Phone for VOIP use?

Not sure if this is the correct forum but can anyone recommend a good headset or phone setup for use on VOIP? Which is the better to use - headset or phone? I've seen some phones that plug into the computer that you can use as an ordinary phone. Are they any good?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I use a headset - it is cheaper than a phone and you can use it for listening to music or doing voice chats via MSN etc. It will also work with the standard free VOIP software which you can download off the internet. USB phones often have their own customised version of the software.0

Hi there,
I am a regular user of SKYPE and I found the headset very cumbersome, so I bought myself a USB to RJ 11 box off Ebay (search for VOIP USB TO RJ11/UK) - I understand you can get the same box from Maplin. The software that comes with the box is for Skype and allows integration of a normal phone (corded or cordless).
For other software which works with the box, you can goto a site called http://www.yealink.com/en/otherdown.asp and download software which allows you to use the box with Xten, SJphone, Voipbuster, the list goes on.
The USB box on Ebay (and sold in Maplin) is made by a company called MPLAT (http://www.mplat.com/). If you goto their website, there is a forum which users experiences of the box.
I have had mone for about 10 months, and it seems to work fine.
Hope this helps
Steve
