cool - I've got one and it costs nothing - I clear it every month though, so thats not good for them since they make nothing from me - can they start charging you after a year?Syndicat D'Initiative0 -
They make their money by charges to the retailer0

The 30% off thing for AMEX is also going to be sent to major firms and companies. Gap do it about three/four times a year - it's called Corporate "Friends & Family" and they usually just ask you to take your work ID in and show it at the till to get a 30% discount.
All next weekend I think.
I'll let you know the full list of companies that have been invited as soon as I know.
They also hold other Friends & Family events for Gap staff to let their families and friends (!) abuse the store discount!0 -

Not if you meet there terms and conditions, i.e. do minimum spend per year, not sure what this is.
The Platinum Credit Card is free with the Cashback
The Platinum Charge Card is the one with the fee, originally all AMEX cards were charge cards with fee, then they moved into the Credit Card sector as well.0 -

Gon on - admit it... you've got the Platinum Cashback like the rest of us
If they have got a Black card they shouldn't be a member of MSEas they annual fee is in the £0,000's. Might be worth reading Martin's guide on the use of Credit Cards
The only reason I know that the fee is in the £0,000's is one of my loaded mates in London has one and he certainly isn't a member of MSE. Has proved useful for getting into restricted restaurants in the past, such as the Ivy.0 -
We got American Express Nectar cards a few months ago and have found there's enough places that DON'T accept them to make it too much trouble to use.
For example neither my ISP and DVD rental company accept it as well as numerous other online places.
Also they messed up my first three months bills by miscalculating my interest - which didn't help my first impressions. Add to that their awful Indian call centre experience and both cards have been collecting dust for a while.
I might get them out just for this Gap offer though.0
