As BigBouncyBall said you need to advise on budget. It might help as well if you gave some idea of what the laptop is actually required to do. Just simple day-to-day stuff ie internet Word/Excel etc, or are more intensive programmes required which will up the ante a bit.
My wife wanted one with a webcam, good battery life (oh and a red case!!) and she got a good deal for hers from Dell. Ordered on the Saturday to her spec, delivered the following Wednesday.........and she loves it
