I did this but unfortunately wrote one of the letters wrong of my registration details. For this reason they fined me and said that if I didn't pay up within 14 days it would go to £150. At the time I thought £75 was the lesser of two evils, so I paid it but I have written to them to try and get the money back. I have read the MSE article too late, I don't think I would have paid it if I knew then what I know now, then again hindsight is a wonderful thing! Has anyone got any tips on how I can fight to get my £75 back?0

I have one at the mo from K&C council
I need to wrk out whether to appeal it or4 just pay can anyone help. I work in london so put in about 4.50 to go and visit a workplace. The ticket had no sticker on the back so had to lie on the dash.
Came back lo and behold Ive got a ticket, because the ticket cant be easily seen. It was on the dash. Yes there were some other things on the dash ( its a transit connect) such as my pencil case and a newspaper, they wrote on the ticket, it wasnt "easily seen." I still have that parking ticket i paid for.
How to appeal this, im not sure???? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
the p&c spaces near to the shops are generally placed there for the safety of the children - knowing their inability to sense danger and acting quickly and inappropriately in most places. A lot of parents I 've noticed in car parks have little initial sense of what their child gets up to the moment they get out of the cars. That is the crucial time for an accident to happen. No, I don't like the pandering to hapless parents and I don't believe the p&c spaces are enforcable. How to behave in certain situations should be the way to go in the first instance. Put your 'phones down, stop lookin' at youselves in mirrors and windows - that call and your hair is not as important as your child's life - or is it!?0

I'm currently engaged in appealing against a bus lane contravention. The council have said the case is suspended until further notice. It's been like this for over a month. . .nearly two now.
Does anyone know if there is a time limit on how long they can take before finishing the process...?
It's no fun having such a thing -- albeit minor -- hanging over you.0 -
If a parking bay allows limited parking for x hours with no return within y hours, does anyone know what the rules are for moving your car when your time is up?
Can you just move to another space within the same bay? Can you move to the other side of the street? Or further along the street after a junction? What does the law allow? Anyone know?0 -
I parked my car & went to buy a ticket , the first meter would not take my coins , so went to the next nearest which was across the road , bought a ticket & returned to my car , then went shopping, I came back to the car & went home. The next day It was raining when I left home & as put my wipers on a Ticket was stuck to them. Obviously the warden had stuck it right down as low as they could get get out of sight. The offence was not displying a ticket for the day before but where it said "Observed from" it was TIME 1600 TO 1601 !!! a whole 60 seconds !! it took me longer to walk from my car to the 1st meter then cross the road to the next meter then cross back to my car!!
Ive tried appealing but they want proof i bought my ticket which was thrown out in the rubbish the night before so ive had to pay the fine otherwise the notice to owner will go to my company ( its a company car) who have a policy of disciplinary hearings for traffic offences inc parking tickets that they know about .
I cant believe they can POUNCE so quick , what if you couldnt walk fast etc ?0 -
On 4 July I went to Padley Gorge in Derbyshire, which is a well known beauty spot. Cars park along a lane, some of it is double white lines. On this occasion I did the wrong thing and followed everyone else and parked on the double white lines.
No parking ticket was issued but 2 weeks later I received a document from north Derbyshire police stating the offense, which I admitted. On Sept 30 I receieved a summons which I pleaded guilty. On Nov 4 I received a £233 fine and 3 points on my license!!!!
The Fine doesn't fit the crime at all, what can I do?
Will police complaints commission be able to help?

I was given a parking fine for parking on a disused pavement at the dead end of a cul de sac with no parking restrictions. The residents were hostile against anyone parking in 'their' cul de sac and obviously had a rappore with the community policewoman who falseley stated on the ticket that someone had to 'walk onto the road with a pushchair'. In fact, the pavement was pitted with weeds and in complete disrepair and was also impassable due to hanging thorny brambles. Within 10ft it ended in a rotting fence and was not used for going anywhere by anyone, let alone a person pushing a pram. I would like to make a case of perjury against the community policewoman for this falsification and would like to know how to go about this. Any advice welcome.0
