Hi all
Totally new to this game but tried growing tomatoes last year and delighted with the success (although they did take up a lot of room!)
I'm based in Scotland, so not the warmest of climates, but I've just had my large shed taken away and rather than put decking down (not really enough warm sunny days to sit out sadly) I've decided to try my hand at a vegetable plot but ABSOLUTELY no idea where to start.
I've raked over the whole area (about 10ft square) and am thinking of putting top soil down this weekend but need some advice about growing veg that are REALLY EASY! and don't take too much looking after.
Any help gratefully received.
PS If anyone knows where I can buy cheap topsoil in Edinburgh, please let me know!

Check on Gumtree for the soil in the freebie bit there is quite often people looking to get rid if top soil. To get you started write a list of all the things you like to eat and then check which ones are the most expensive to buy fresh and then grow them in your garden.
While you are waiting on getting your soil ready start the seedlings you have selected off in the house that way they will be well on their way to growing when you are ready to plant your beds. Peas and beans are really easy and produce loads of pods for you to enjoy.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
