Bad faith MSE anti-spam techniques

Why do i call MSE a social networking site? Because that's the category hitwise put it in and i was quoting that data.
Bigger forums? Big boards seems to be almost unsupported at the moment and isnt getting our data. Im sure there are other forums out there of similar scale, but very view (and the users online depends on the settings so isnt an accurate comparison)
Yet more importantly the accusation that we dont know what we're doing is unfair on me and my team. We have lots of issues to prioritise. These forums run well - our rules are bespoke. There's spam bot spam and we also have lots of people who come on thinking "i'll plug my business" on here, imagingin they're the first to think of it, without realising the rules. ANd the no links post has helped that too.
We're constantly looking to improve and have new cachtcha settings already on and done some tweaking. Yet frankly back seat driving is quite easy but you can't necessarily see the dashboard.
As for your legal emails, I haven't seem them to be honest, and have no idea. Yet I probably wouldn't be able to reply any way; by the nature of the way we have to deal with legal issues most are confidential and I let the lawyers deal with it rather than me directly
Kind regards
Martin
You are welcome. You know, for the praise which was given.
I think that post sums up quite well why people don't want to offer help.0 -

An offer of help is saying....
"I've got a suggestion that can help with spam, "
When it starts
"This board has outgrown you and they can't cope" to me it reads like a criticism and doesn't incline us to listen; nor do constant rebuttals when we explain how and why we operate.
My techie team read this board and look for suggestions and do engage, funnily enough though often while suggestions look great, there are reasons we can't do them. Yet to be on here and discuss all the back end operations publically unfortunately allows people to know how to get round them for spamming or multiple personas.
Again suggestions are always welcome
