Time until payment is made once offer accepted?

Hi
I've successfully reclaimed charges through the FOS from Capital One. Can anyone tell me when I can expect to receive a cheque - FOS sent my acceptance to Cap 1 on 16 March. I know officially it can take "up to 6 weeks" but what experience have others had?
Thanks
Angela

Hi, I am in the same position as you, but my date that it was accepted was the 4th March so am a few days ahead of you. Just spoke to Cap 1 again as it is now 6weeks and they are just fobbing me off saying it may take a further few weeks so I have spoken to the FOS who are looking into this for me and will get back to me, will post on here when I have more news.

Thanks for the reply jessie15. That seems totally unacceptable, surely 6 weeks is long enough to put your details on a cheque run never mind telling you to wait longer! Keep us posted.

I've tried to talk to someone at Cap 1 but my details are no longer on the system so they can't help me on the phone and have advised me to write.

Just letting you know that FOS called me back today, they have been in touch with Cap 1 who have told them that they never received my acceptance slip that the FOS sent to them weeks ago, FOS are sending this again and I should then have the money in a week or two - we will see!!

With that in mind, although my six weeks are not yet up, I'm going to start hassling Cap 1 immediately!

    Just thought I'd update.

I wrote to Cap 1 asking them to send a cheque by return. I received a letter (6 weeks to the day after I'd accepted their offer) saying they'd received my acceptance slip from the FOS and would be issuing a cheque within the next three weeks. The cheque arrived the following day. I'm happy!

My Cap 1 claim is currently with FOS. I got a letter through yesterday saying that they have sent a letter to Cap 1 asking them to either pay in full or provide more info to support the fact that their charges are fair.

Do Cap 1 tend to go further or will they be likely to pay?
