Pls help need immobiliser start code for 12 y.o. Renault Megane

Please help I have a R reg Renault Megane and one of the plip keys has just packed up. I have no desire to spend £100+ replacing it as I plan to change this car in the next few months anyway. I'm jittery just in case the other key packs up too.
I was given a start code to disable the immobiliser when I bought the car which I tried unsuccessfully to use to start it with this weekend. The on board computer was replaced in 2003 and I guess the start code changed when this happened. Silly me didn't think to ask about it at the time. The Renault dealership where I got this work done no longer exists. (Has been knocked down and had houses built on it!) Have any of you kind souls out there got any idea where I would obtain this info. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks xx
