My daughter left her i-pod in her jeans and it went through the full 2 hr wash cycle. We dried it out and it works, but the screen no longer lights up.
Any thoughts on repairs?

Do you have accidental cover on your house insurance.?0

Sadly I wouldn't count on it working for too long, it's inevitable that the circuitry will have some moisture in it and is likely to corrode and fail eventually. I'm amazed it still works at all after 2 hours.
Bet it's nice and clean though. No free lunch, and no free laptop

2 options, claim on your household insurance, or just buy a new one, if you don't want your insurance to go up0 -
I did this with my daughters ipod. I noticed just before i put her jeans in the tumble dryer. We left it to dry out naturally before turning it on. The screen was cracked and it didn't display in colour initially but after a few days the colour came back. It's still working now a good 2 years later.0

Apple and "nominal fee" are two phrases that never go together.
It'll cost you more than the ipod is worth to get it fixed.
You could try these home remedies, but otherwise you're out of luck:
