Alliance and Leicester transfer

Hi guys
I am about to join alliance and leicester online saving account, however there are a few things I need to know and I thought maybe someone can help me. If i was to transfer money from my HSBC account to A&L online account via BACS, will any of these bank charge me? A&L told me they will not charge me if i was to transfer money to their bank but wouldnt tell me if there was a charge if i was to transfer the money bank into my HSBC. Emailed them and no response for 2 days, also did call them but they kept me on hold for ages, transfered my cll to various department and just given hope.

I am not aware of any UK bank that charges for BACS transfers (3/4 working days). CHAPS transfers (same day) normally incur a fee of around £15 - £20.If i was to transfer money from my HSBC account to A&L online account via BACS, will any of these bank charge me?
I have done BACS transfers from my A&L current a/c without charge and a friend has confirmed the same applies at his HSBC current a/c.0 -
