Best webcam?

Attempting the geek status now, but failing.
I'm looking for a new webcam that I can get for my daughter, for her 16th birthday. But, as usual she is being useless and providing no hints to which one she would like.
Only she did mention, she would like a high quality webcam with a built in microphone. (Really narrows it down
.)
As I'm a usual teen mother, reasonable prices would also be very beneficial.
So, if you 'techie people' can help me in any way to find the best webcam for my daughter, then thank you so much.

The logitech ones are generally very good, but of course they are probably among the most expensive.
I have tried a few others but in the end always found the extra cost worth it. Purchasing from Argos with their positive returns policy allows you to try and return if required.
I have three of the quickcam pro 4000 - they are an older model now but still beat most of the others available for quality, what really makes the good ones stand out is using them under low or artificail light, this as always comes down to what you wish to spend and the level of quality you are looking for.Signature No Longer acceptable -

Depends what she is using it on- some are designed to clip onto a laptop screen, others more suitable for a desktop.
What OS is she using? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

The ones I have came with stands for either desktop (CRT) or laptop screen mount, although many users are using flat screen monitors on their desktop pc's so there is no difference really, Logitech provided drivers for all available OS's when I got mine including Mac, the ones I have are not vista compatible but they are five or so years old now and I do not use Vista, but any bought new would have the drivers for XP and Vista.Signature No Longer acceptable -

This really proves my 'techie skills' then.
She's using a laptop, but she does put it on a ledge infront of her sometimes.
And it's a Vista laptop.
I've been attempting to do a bit of research into webcams, just for a laugh really, and I've come across what seems like a high rated one. Logitech Quickcam E3500?
Anyone give me any ideas on if it's decent?
Thanks for everything.2009 - A year to remember. :rolleyes:0 -
This is the one I have and the picture quality is great.

Only downside is the usb lead is short so only suitable for laptop/notebook and not a home pc.I hate migraines.0 -

I bought a Logitech E 3500 Plus and I find it very good. It cost just under £20 from Argos.0
