Littlewoods credit account

I wanted to have a bit of a rant and also know if there is anything my relative can do.
Well my 15 year old cousin applied for a littlewoods credit account (with a fake D.O.B) And got a £900 credit limit. He went and ordered £300 worth of stuff (clothes a mobile etc). And didn't tell the family, until today he missed a payment and a letter came threw the door and his mum opened it!
Now the issue is, he has paid nearly £270 , and owes £45 inc a late payment fee.
Could His mum ring up and refuse to pay it? And also ask for the cash to be refunded?
I tried applying ages ago, and was refused LMAO.
Its real weird though! Anyone can get an account now.:rotfl:

Why would his Mum ask for the cash to be refunded? He's got the goods and they have to be paid for, if not by him then by his parents. They are legally responsible for him so the debt should lie with them.:j30/7/10:j

Ok, Just thought maybe the debt was unenforcable.
There Just going through a tough time. So every penny counts really :rotfl:0 -
I think they should just pay up and get rid of the debt. After all, fraud was used to get the account in the first place and I don't think Littlewoods would be very forthcoming in providing a refund when they have been duped into giving an account to a 15 year old. As it is an offence to commit fraud, then best to wipe the debt and let the parents deal with the fraud issue.0

Strange how Mum saw the letter but not the delivery (or deliveries) of goods that he ordered.
When I was 15 Mum would have also noticed new clothes etc, as I was not working.......
I thought Littlewoods et al checked the electoral role for age/DOB purposes anyway......
This sounds a little bit like the Ebay "my 5 year old/cat/senile grand parent bid by mistake and now I don't want to pay....."
Call me sceptical....0 -

She should Ebay his stuff to get her money back and/or get him to pay her from his paper round.
That will be a good learning experience for him.
Thanks for the idea, will tell her.
She is just a bit depressed and is worried that he might get a credit card or something next and will run up a massive bill.
Thought i would see what she could do, She doesn't even know how to use a computer yet, and she is like 40.0 -
The strange thing about it is that he paid £270 of it, which kinda shows that he wasnt doing it to "bump" them and has made an effort to pay which i know sounds silly but kind of mature as he was taking responsibility for the account until obv he missed a payment.0

Very much agree , he was working for his money and did pay for the things he got , i also do agree about the credit card bit though , no serious need to punish him he was paying it back:jEmpire Stores - [STRIKE]2400[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]1900[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]1230[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]780 [/STRIKE]
