not sure if this is the correct place.
if you didnt know i am a council tenant. i understand fences are our responsibility. however the rear fence seems to be council property, not sure but assume i can find out. the problem is trees.
the other side of this fence are loads of trees that are situated on council owned public open space., these are all overgrown hanging over the fence in our garden and further to the end of the garden they are pushing the fence to an angle.
i know we can cut these back and put to bits back over the other side. but these tree at the bottom end are gradually pushing the fence over.
do i stand anywhere with asking the council to control their trees? they cut other trees that cause problems on the highways.

Yes you can ask the council to cut the tree's & also to repair the fence if necessary. That's not to say they will do it though & you can't force them unfortunately. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Most Council's have a maintenance contract with a firm of Tree Surgeons/Arborists. If you feel that the trees are causing you a problem, get in touch with the Tree Officer at the Council HQ and he should direct the contractors to deal with the problem. It won't happen immediately though and may take some weeks.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
