:naughty: No Sorry as the Modem is assigned a unique IP address by NTL Server. The easiest option is to buy a router or use Internet Sharing via a PC.

Sounds like you need a router.

Your setup would be something along the lines of:

    Internet > Modem > Router > Computers

A router basically does as it's named, routes data to eahc pc connected to it. A kind of junction box so to speak.

You will need to check a few things before considering a router though. Your current modem, how does it connect to your pc, via usb or ethernet?

If it is ethernet, then you've got the right setup for a router to be implemented. For connecting your pc's up to a router you can do so via network cable, or wirelessly (you may need to buy wireless network cards).

No, the modem is in the NTL box. You need to connect a router or a wireless access point to the NTL box to share the connection.

If you want 10mb then dont use the NTL tv cable modem. This is only good for 1-2mb.

You can run 10 modems from a cable line.....

That router you have mentioned will be fine if it has a modem to be plugged into.

Surley if you are subscribing to a 10Mb service from NTL, they would have to supply a suitable modem?

Do you have a modem already? Any modem will do, just dont use the one built into your TV Cable box (if you have one)
