To find the HD size, go to My Computer>right click on C drive>Properties. That will tell you the disk size and the current storage used.
256MB RAM is too litle for Windows XP these days, upgrade to 512MB or preferably 1GB. You can go up to 2GB on your PC, you have 4 RAM slots and probably 3 free.That will make a huge difference to performance for probably no more than about £30. Fitting RAM is a simple job, takes 5 mins once the case is off, which is generally very simple on Dells. If not, any independent PC shop will fit it for you probably while you wait, say £15.No free lunch, and no free laptop
