Trying to change to Euphony Talk - CPS

Am currently with Toucan Talk for CPS calls - £9.99 month with BT line rental. I have just trying to change to Euphony Talk (£7.25) for the same service. The customer service lady has said that I have to go back to BT for calls first before Euphony can ask to talk my line for CPS calls.

Is this right???

I do not want to go near BT for calls if I can possibly help it, they will have me down as a statistic as someone 'returning to BT'. DEF not the case.

Can anyone help please.

    Sounds like nonsense to me.

I've changed CPS providers twice and the 'receiver' gets my order and does all the work. I have never had to contact the 'loser' or BT to make a change.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

If you are already in the process of moving away from Toucan (i.e had a letter confirming the date your calls will transfer back to BT) then you will have to wait until you have switched back to BT before registering for Euphony.

This is due to BT Wholesale only being able to handle one CPS order at a time for your line i.e they cannot handle a Deprovision order from Toucan and a Provision order from Euphony at the same time.

If you have not cancelled with Toucan, you can register with Euphony and this will cause your Toucan order to cease (10 working day lead time) automatically. This mease that Toucan will be notified that you are moving off their service, without Toucan having to intiate the deprovision.

Be careful though as you may want to check Toucans T&C's as to notice periiods etc.

    Thanks

I have not given any form of 'notice' to Toucan, have been with them for a couple of years so cannot believe that I am tied to a contract. Neither have I spoken to the 'highway robbers' (aka BT). Have to say that I thought the woman from Euphony was talking rubbish but not having switched CPS providers before...... I shall try again!

It is just Euphony. I know someone who asked how long it would take to transfer their calls from one provider to themselves and apparently the woman at euphony said a few days!?!?

I think its just down to lack of training on certain aspects - CPS type queries being one of them.

As mentioned in earlier posts, you can transfer your calls only (ie via CPS) from one carrier to another without transferring back to BT providing your linerental is currently with BT. Only if you have line rental with this other carrier do you have to then transfer both your calls and line rental back to BT before transfering calls to Euphony.
