What file extensions are these? .rar / .lit

Help!

I'm trying to downlopad some documents and apart formt eh usual .doc or.pdf, I've come across .rar and .lit extensions.

What are they and what would I open them with?

.rar is a type of compressed file format. You can open it using something like WinRAR.

.lit is (I think) a Microsoft Reader document.

.rar are rar archives you can unrar using winrar.
.lit are ebook files for reading in a program that reads ebooks. I believe microsoft reader can read them . I have an ebook reader on my phone that can read them also.
