I've been with Just Dial for only a month but feel that because they've been taken over by TT I should get out while I can.
Is this possible after just a month
Thanks

Yes, all you need to do is register with another CPS provider. Do not cancel the Just-Dial service as this would result in you having to wait until your calls provision returned to BT before being able to register with someone else.
so
1. Find a new provider and register
2. As soon as you receive confirmation of you new service start date send an email to Just-Dial confirming you wish your account to be closed from that date.
If you are paying a monthly fee to Just-Dial (Saver2) then check the T&C's to ensure that no penalties apply for termination without notice.0 -
Thanks phoneman. I'll do that0

What do you mean by saying you should "get out while you can".
Are there any problems with Just Dial being taken over by TT, other than the fact that they may remove the free evening and weekend calls offer?
Are you implying it may not be easy to sign up to a different cps once Talk Talk have taken over?
The reason I ask is that I signed up to just dial myself at the beginning of Feb.
Cheers:)0 -
I didn't want to be with a company that had been taken over. I don't think it will be too long before charges will be made. I am now on Primus.0

Still with Just Dial. We will just have to wait and see!0

I think that's the point.Mervcashsaver wrote:Still with Just Dial. We will just have to wait and see!
You don't have to just wait. You have a choice.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Is anyone actually getting a reply from Just-dial customer service, i never have!!0

I e-mailed Just Dial to cancel, they mailed me back to ask why I wanted to leave, I told them and this morning they have mailed me to say my service with them will stop on 23 March. I can't fault them because they've replied each time.0

To change your CPS provider you do not need to cancel with the existing company because the new one does that (and, between them, they agree a changeover date).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Almost true but not quite. BT have a standard 10 working days to provision or deprovision CPS from your line.
If you request that CPS is cancelled by your existing provider it will take 10 working days. You are then unable to place an order with a new supplier until your line is switched back to BT (well you can place an order but it will be rejected by BY). Once back with BT you can then request CPS thorugh an alternate supplier which will again take 10 working days to switch; therefore the whole process takes a minimum of 20 working days if you cancel with your current provider.
If you do want to change then the quickest way is to just register with a new supplier (without cancelling with your existing suppier). BT will process a provision and cease order at the same time, therefore the process will take only 10 working days.0
