Can you not get a cheap day rider for £3 from Bingley into leeds? Wilkos is minutes from the station. try poundland etc as well.

But best wishes for the new house

OK, RAS, tbh, it's not just money (we're not that short, though it's not something to make a fuss about on here). It's time as well ... and maybe carrying power. I was in Leeds the other day to get school clothes for the children, and I must admit I'd never clicked about the Wilkos, cos it's not somewhere I've been in the past. And I probably couldn't have carried anything else anyway. But the point is that if the saving is £3-4 in postage, then it's not clear that it is cheaper to go into the shop in person. And shopping online can be done after the kids are in bed.

If I was really poor this would be an issue -to those that have transport, are given cheaper products. Fortunately, it's not critical for us, but it's an eye-opener.

any old cardboard box (cereal or something like) lined with tinfoil will be perfectly waterproof.

I have one in my tile saw and it has lasted 2 years...

Could you cut the bottom 4" or so off large pop bottles and stand pots in each of those? For the seed trays I would use a couple of sheets of poly roll directly under the tray and then a square of oilcloth fabric or some cardboard wrapped in cling film.
