Upgrade deals

I wanted to upgrade my Medion P4 to a dual core processor and motherboard mainly for gaming and i wanted some help as to what spec to buy and where to buy from. I also want a good graphics card to play the latest games (COD 4) and i would appreciate any help.
Thanks

whats your budget and how technically compitant are you, theres usually a few good deals on ebay from hardcore gamers upgrading their old kit.

ot but have you considered getting a console, i got one as i was fed up blowing £££s every year to still end up at minimum spec of some games like crysis

I was hoping to stay in around £200 for everything. I have put things like memory and DVD drives along with network cards in the past but I hve not put a motherboard in.

its not hard, there are nojumpers etc thse days.

that said you ae likey talking about £100 for a decent GPU, change the processor/mobo and your memory will likley need changed from ddr to ddr2, you may also need a new psu.

that £160 xbox aint looking a bad option these days especially when there are loads of good £10 games, hell gears of war two only cost me £15

    £200 for a gaming rig....erm....cheap mobo + processor =~£100, GPU = ~£100, Ram+PSU=~£100 =~£300
You can cut corners..get a £20 PSU and hope it doesn't take out the whole PC when it blows...or reuse your RAM...but it's old...and slow...like fastening an anchor to a porche..or get a cheper GPU....but you want a gaming PC..so you need a decent card (2nd hand 8800GT ~£50 would be my choice for budget)
