benifit mess

we were claiming jsa and carers allowance as a couple and then we seperated and i went back and left again. but now the benifits are in a complete muddle. As we have decided now to make one final go of things.
I had to transfer the cb, dla and ca plus tax credits into my partners name.
so now we need to make a new claim for everything and i am totally confused as he is now claimimg the carers allowance and jsa as a single parent even though he hasnt had any money since the 16th march.
Does he just add me to his claim or do we need to make a new one

Who is actually entitled to the Carers allowance?
He will have to make a new claim again to add you, if your living as a couple I believe.
I am sure someone who deals with these matters will post up shortly for you, good luck, hope it sorts out soon.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
How can you transfer DLA to somebody else?0

Hi di3004
I'd be geting your partner to ring the Jobcentre Plus to inform them that you are now living as a couple. Then ring your local authority benefits service so that they know that you are a couple again regarding council tax benefit and any housing benefit.
i'd definately ring the tax credits people to tell them you are back together.
also ring the carers allowance helpline to inform them.
also i'd check with the disability living allowance - this cannot be transferred between people.
better to be safe than sorry. you don't want to get any sort of overpayment business going on to have to pay back!
good luck!0 -

I think they have a child as they say ca tax credits.
It would be paid to the parent. So assume they mean in to the other parents bank account.

the carers allowance and the dla was for my daughter, which i used to claim but it was transferred to him along with the cb and ctc. Everything is in a complete mess and dont know where to start. As we have to wait up to 12 weeks for any money to be sorted out. as there were 2 different claims going on i dont know what will happen with the rent or council tax benifit now for the last month.0

Hi there
Its a long time to wait "12 weeks", I would contact your local CAB if you can, see if they can help you through this, they may be able to contact the benefits office for you, to move things on a little quicker.
Hope this sorts out very soon hun, good luck. ;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
