As you say it would be totally daft, as the customer could just come back again without the receipt.
Well, that's exactly what I was told in the Bath store on Saturday - I could have an exchange or credit note on the items without receipts, but nothing for the socks where I had kept the receipt. I had my small daughter with me and she was too tired for me to expect her to queue up again after I'd thrown away the receipt, so I took them away with me. Now I'll put them on one side in my house until I go back shopping in Bath again - probably at least a month's time - and then take them back again without the receipt. How is that logical and good customer service?0 -

Then you haven't been reading your store briefs!! or you don't work on GM
as of yesterday or the day before, the policy has reverted to how it was before. If the receipt has expired you will get a credit voucher for the last known selling price.
It went back because of feedback from staff and customers.0 -

Be careful if you leave it too long, that it doesn't go down in price or you'll lose out0 -
Does anyone know how long you have to return goods if you have a gift receipt? Does the 35 days still apply. Just bought a present this morning with a gift receipt, but will not be seeing the recipient for 30 days and not sure if they can get to a store before 35 days if they don't like it. Not sure whether to take it back and re-purchase it nearer to the time? I know this would be the safer option but don't really want the hassle if I don't have to do that.0
