  • Evening if anyone's still around!

Sorry to hear about your car, Jen. Hope you get it sorted. Our tv in the living room broke tonight (in the middle of eastenders) AND our car won't lock at all, dunno what's wrong with it! The exhaust is about to fall off too, so it's not looking good. Everything seems to break at once.

I just played some of my scratchcard money on Butlins bingo - naughty I KNOW but I won £22.20 after doing 3x10p fruit smoothie scratchcards so it paid off! :D

Well done on your Foxy win, lilmiss.

yeah it is all going really well at the moment.

I am hoping the car will be fixed this afternoon although i am thinking of buying a new car i would like to have some time to look and choose one! I think the prices of cars will come down because of the 2K off new cars with an old car trade it. i don;t really want a brand new car though

    Morning everyone,

I hope you both get your cars/TV fixed, and well done on your win cl. Log in bonus and double scratches today so I've withdrawan £10, it's like the good old days :D lol.

I plan to finish trying to strip wallpaper, ran out of time yesterday with college, then I've got another job to apply for. I managed to get an A for my mock which surprised me as I forgot we even had it.

Thanks Jen, I have the real ones this Thursday and the Thursday after so I'm hoping they go well. If I can get a decent mark in the practical it will balance out my impending terrible performance in the written exam lol.

I was reading something about the 2k car thing, apparently it won't be as good as people expect because the govt are putting in 1k and the dealer has to put in the other half. Because cars are often already reduced by that or more, apparently the dealers are allowed to use that reduction and don't have to reduce them more. It's probably worth reading up on if you're interested though.

I was thinking it might make people buy old bangers (my car) that are more than 10 years old and exchange them for 2K off then sell there car for a reasonable price (to me) But i might not work like that

I *think* that if you have an older car the idea of the incentive was to get the car scrapped because they're less environmentally friendly, but I might be wrong... I'm a bit curious, I might go and look it up.

Edit: It looks like they do have to be scrapped to get the money http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8012492.stm

The government have thought of that one, you need to have owned the car for a year to benefit from it, and as the window is only open for a year it means that people wouldn't be able to benefit unless they already own a car over ten years. To be honest I think the scheme is a bit stupid, most people with cars of that age are unlikely to have 10k+ stashed away to buy a brand new car with anyway.
