Attendance allowance is the same as DLA (title changes if claim made after age 65. Not sure if there is a difference for etntitlement to claim carerers (assuming your mum cooperates),
AA is the same as DLA care.
AA is for care needs only and not mobility needs.

Just to confirm, what will proof of this entail? Copies of letters and similar?
Do you know if they will want to see bank statements when I apply for JSA or at any time afterwards?
Proof that you have looked for work, like letters as you say,or notes of which papers you have looked in, which agences you have been to, e-mails you have sent etc.
They will want to see all bank statements to make sure you haven't got too much in savings to get this means-tested benefit.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
