Hi, I would really appreciate some advice for a slow running laptop, ive done a malwarebytes and a highjackthis scan and here are the results, hope ive done it right

Save this as "CFScript"

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.




This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.




Then please reboot and post a FRESH hijack log


Then run a KASPERSKY ONLINE SCAN (click to scan 'MY COMPUTER')

My favorite is running msconfig, and unticking the boxes in startup, and see how it performs afterwards.

Also, go to add/remove programmes and uninstall all that worldwinner crap - it is malware.

Plus, it seems like you have two antiviruses installed - Symantec/Norton and Avast. That's a very bad idea, almost always leads to conflicts and slowdowns.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in RED below

File::
C:\WINDOWS\csauie1.ocx

Save this as "CFScript"

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.




This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.

If you've been using your computer for quite some time then you can get a good performance boost by renewing your user hive. This is quite simple to do and should make you computer a lot nicer to use.

Windows has 2 main registry hives:

1. Computer Hive - STABLE
2. USER Hive - PRONE TO CURRUPTION

As noted above, computer hives are quite stable and shouldn't cause you any problems. User hives on the other hand are horrible and over time will become currupt and cause all sorts of horribleness.

To restore your computer to a nice working order, you can give yourself a new hive, and this is easily done.

Heres what you do:

1. BACKUP all your important files, including stuff on your desktop.
2. Reboot the computer
3. Logon with another account that has Administrator access.
4. Press the WINDOWS KEY+E to start Explorer
5. Navigate to C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS
6. Click once on your old user folder (should be your name or account ID)
7. Press F2 on the keyboard and rename the folder to 'Your Name BACKUP' and click OK
8. Logoff and then log back on using your original account
9. Restore your backed up files
10. Done!

When you log back on you should find that your PC runs much faster. HOWEVER, it will be like logging on for the first time, so all your settings will be back to the default. So dont expect to see your wallpaper, passwords in the web browser or anything you've changed. To all intents and purposes you will be a brand new user logging on for the first time.
