Meeting Site Manager on New Build

Hi - this is my first post on here but I've been a longtime reader.
We have paid a reservation on a new build detached property in Leeds and this week we're meeting the Site Manager to discuss the process and ask any questions. Only the foundations have been dug so far so they are estimating completion in November.
I'm wondering if there are any specific questions we should be asking the site manager/sales exec when we are there? Can we get a spec plan/drawing on the plot and house so we can have a record of where boundaries should be, distance between us and other houses etc?
Really, stuff we should have an answer to by this stage (we put the reservation down last week). We've never taken a new build property before so are looking for a bit of independant guidance outside of what the sales agent is telling us.
Thanks in advance for any advice all

Hi - you could always check the plans at your local planning department - they should give you the info you need (and also indicate whether things are proceeding as per the plans!!)...ps where abouts in Leeds is it? (I have just reserved in Birstall)0

Do a search on here for people who have done what you have done and when their house has finally been built they could not get a mortgage for its value they paid months ago....and they were sued.....be very very carefulIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Geoff, I'm aware of the type of problems you mention - as I say I've been reading here a while!
We are doing part-ex on a basically paid up property and the price of the house type is down 35% on it's selling price in 2007. So I'm not concerned about the mortgage, I'm after any specific info we should be getting out of the site manager when we see him.0 -
also get a snagging company in when its built..best money you can spend...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
