Switching to npower online from economy 7

I currently have 2 different suppliers, British Gas and Swalec for electricity.
Looking at comparison sites and doing my own calculations it looks like npower online is by far the cheapest for me.
However at present I have economy 7 but can't find whether I can switch to their tariff without economy 7.
The npower online tariff is is considerably cheaper than the standard but economy 7 online is only slightly cheaper than standard economy 7. Hope I have made that clear.
My night usage is about 30% and it would be much cheaper for me to go from my present economy 7 to the tariff which is the same for night and day use.
So how can I ensure that when switching I am not automatically put on the economy 7 tariff?
Any suggestions or other advice much appreciated.

Hi Chris....when I moved to Powergen, there was quite a muddle. Still have two meters, with the readings for each marked on the bill, but totalled at one price.Useful to know night readings, but, like you say, not economic at 30%.0
