Smelly modem !!

Hi I recently bought a new wireless modem and its giving off a a very subtle chemical type odour. It doesn't stink as such, but if I leave the room and return a while later I can smell/ taste that the air is different to other parts of the house.

Should I be worried or should I take it back??

TIA

Dx

Is it hot/warm?? If so I'd turn it off - sounds like something may be overheating in side...

They are so cheap these days .. most ISPs give them away & I just sold one (Virgin pressie ..) for £21...

Take it back, ask for a new one,,... but I'd expect the same problem with the new one IF you get it and it is the same model..

    Cheers!

Thanks, it's about 2-3 weeks old and thought it was the newness of it, but it doesn't seem to be wearing off.

It gets slightly warm , definately not hot.

I'll see what the shop says about it.

Make sure you havent got anything stacked on it or covering any vents.

Sounds like overheating and plastic melting on the case perhaps ??

    Linksys wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway (WAG325N)

I believe that it's quite an old model if that makes any difference.
