Domain name, web hosting and email

I want to get some online space and a personal domain with included emails. I don't just want email forwarding, I'd prefer to try and get out of webmail (hotmail etc) completely.

Theres so many companies out there, I'm just a bit bemused by it all. Any ideas?

Depends what you want it for, if just a homepage or shop window type [not on line shop], then have a look at http://www.3ix.org/

PS I would buy the domain from 123.reg, and transfer server to 3ix once set up, this way you have control over the important bit which is domain name, 123 reg will permit mail forwarding, which is not what you wanted but could be useful backup

Ahh found a great site, hostsearch.com. For comparing etc. 3ix got really bad reviews, looks like my sorta thing is 3shost.com. Got what I need, and well reviewed.
