Help! I have just been bought a flat screen tv for my birthday and I cannot get any channels through the cable box - it says there is no signal. So disappointed, can anyone help please?
Had a look on the Hitachi website, but can't see anything that would help.

    Hi,
Yes it's Virgin and I used the fibre cable from the V+ box which was working on my old tv, but old tv wasn't high definition and the new one is.

Im not sure what you mean by a fibre cable? The V+ box should be connected via HDMI to your hdtv though

    Hi,
The fibre cable looks like the aerial plug on a tv round with a pin inside, like you would have if you were using an indoor aerial; sorry not very technical.

    ahhh

Its not working because you cant connect via the 'aerial cable' as its an analogue image which the HDTV presumably isnt designed for it

Buy a HDMI lead from asda or wherever and connect with that (its a digital cable so should look FAR better too)

Make sure its 1.3 compliant (Means it allows more info through than the others before it fails)

And you shouldnt need to spend more than a tenner on one

So Virgin supply the V+HD box without an HDMI lead?

Surely the OP could just tune the V+ box in through the analogue receiver on the TV for tonight?

It's all Virgin can do to answer the phone! I got through to them this afternoon, but person at the end of the line didn't have an answer and told me the earliest they could get the engineer out is next Thursday pm.

    I really appreciate your help!
