Please Help??

My computer recently would not load up and just kept on rebooting itself...I didnt know what was wrong and it was suggested to me that I put in the Xp reboot and start again, which I did
Now my computer will only let me on-line via the USB port and not the ethernet port.
Is there something simple I;m missing here.I dont understand why it wont recognise the ethernet anymore

I'm on BT broadband and have the homehub

Please Help

  • You mean you did a fresh installation of windows xp on the machine? If so then you would need to install the ethernet driver, which should be on a disk that came with your computer (or motherboard if you self-built the computer)

Your computer should have come with a disc of 'drivers' needed for such a case

Install all drivers you can off it

Then goto DEVICE MANAGER and tell us if any of them have YELLOW EXCLAMATION marks next to them

Goto DEVICE MANAGER and right click the ethernet controller and attempt to update via the net (And any with YELLOW EXCLAMATION MARKS by them)
