Can anyone recommend a good condenser Tumble Dryer.
My Creda one has stopped heating up. Guarantee has run out one week ago
You never no what you've got till it's gone. Need another one quick.
All advice on brands, eco saving welcome. :j

I had a zanussi that packed up just out of warranty(typical!) and bought a Hotpoint with an extended warranty as I was told condenser dryers don't last long, anyway that was 7 years ago and it's still going strong ! (don't bother getting one with a sensor dryer in it as it always stops when the clothes are still damp)0

Thanks.
Are Hotpoint, Creda and Hoover all the same, but different names?
My creda has been good to me. It is about five years old. (or was)
How long does your one take to dry one full load (say about four towels and the odd tea towel) My one would take about an hour, so I am not sure whether the heater has always been faulty anyway.0 -
We have a Hotpoint condenser its been in nope im not going to say but its a while and it works carry the water tank to empty it sometimes it goes everywhere. not that I ever use the thing anyway thats womens work (now waiting for all the females to have a go at me)
My mum goes for Hotpoint becasue of the warrenty and the service she has had for the past 20 odd years from them, 3 dryers and 3 washing machines in over 20 years so they seem to last quite a while, yeah the moter brushes wear out but we replace them ourselves now she does about 1-2 loads a day I think some days more.
Electrolux: own well over 50 brand names (though not all of them washing machines) Among the more well known ones are AEG, Tricity Bendix, Zanussi
Candy: own Hoover, Zerowatt and Kelvinator among others.
Merloni: own Ariston, Indesit, New World, Philco, Hotpoint, Creda, Cannon, Philco, GDA, English Electric,Thorn (and others)0 -
Hotpoint and creda are the same. Hoover is different!!! the latest range of hotpoint/creda condenser dryers have a reputation for being, or can become noisey over time!! Condenser dryers take ages to dry!! If you have the room always go for a vented dryer!!0

Tumble dryer is in the garage, so maybe I can go for non CONDENSER??
But at the same time I don't want to shrink everything with more heat? :eek:0 -
A vented dryer will save you lots of time and money they are also far more reliable... You can just hang the hose out of a window or door to get rid of the damp air!! or have a hole put into an outside wall to poke it through!! ( Oooer, the vent hose!!!! ) Hopefully it wont shrink everything as it has a thermostat in it to turn the heat on and off!!0

May go for a vented one.
