Full and final settlement request

Hi all!
I sent a f&f letter to Moorcroft offering them 30% of my debt as settlement.
I had a reply saying they would like to see a list of my outgoings, other debt and proof of income and where this payment would be coming from.
Is this a ususal request?
Any advice appreciated!!

Very little is 'usual' as far as the dreaded Moorcroft is concerned.
You do NOT have to give this information, particularily when making an offer for 'Full and Final Settlement'.
Simply write back stating that the 'money' to enable you to have made the F&F offer is being made available to you by a relative, or close friend.
In order to 'speed' things up, you might also tell them that the money is only being made available to you if your offer is accepted within a certain period - I suggest two weeks - and only upon their written confirmation that the offer is accepted in "Full and Final Settlement".
Accept no other words whatsoever - especially from Moorcroft.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Great thanks!! Does this draft sound ok? Anything I should add/change?!
The money I offered in Full and Final Settlement (£250 - ref my letter of the 27th March 2009 copy enclosed) is being made available to me from a relative, only on the basis that this debt is considered settled in full and that I receive written confirmation within 2 weeks of you receiving this letter.Just keep swimming0 -

Try this:
'I acknowledge receipt of your letter, dated xx.xx.xx, and the content therein.
I am not, at this stage, prepared to submit details of my income and expenditure as you request
The offer of £xxxx, that I made to you on xx.xx.xx was to be paid out of funds that will be made available to me by a family member for the express purpose of settling the account by making a 'Full and Final Settlement Offer'.
These funds were to be made available to me only on receipt of your written confirmation that the offer would be accepted in Full and Final Settlement of the account and that my Credit Redference file will be amended accordingly.
I am advised, by the family member concerned, that if such written confirmation is not received within two weeks of this letter, then those funds will no longer be available to me. If this is the case, then I will take independent advice from a Debt Counselling Charity on how best to continue dealing with this 'debt'.
I would, of course, prefer to conclude the matter amicably and my offer to pay £xxx in Full and Final Settlement is still open to you, providing that you confirm your acceptance, as above, within the next two weeks.
Yours faithfully'I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Well I got a reply to my letter today!! And guess what?! They sent exactly the same as last time!! Want to know my monthly expenditure, proof of income, list of creditors a reason for the offer and where the funds are coming from!! Do I reply??
As I'm going to be unemployed in 2 weeks I really want to get this out the way!!Just keep swimming0 -
They don't need to know that information. A creditor of mine asked to see my mortgage details and the amount of eequity I had in my house as well as bank statements etc. I told them to jog on as it was not relevant - and did they want the money or not? Eventually they accepted.
As previously mentioned, just say you have been given this money for a limited time by a friend or family member for the purposes of clearing your debt and give them xx amount of days to accept otherwise tell them you will withdraw the offer and offer the money to someone else.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 2014
