I just got a free bus pass, I just showed my Blue Badge. I don't get DLA or anything, but really would depend on the council.

They might receive high mobility, which gives automatic entitlement to a bus pass.

Yeah, I agree - I don't think it would be as simple as 'I have asthma, give me a free bus pass' because so many people have it now. There is such a variation too.

IF you can't get the free bus pass i know some councils and trasport execs have discounted travel for those on benefits. I'm on ESA and get weekly travel (bus, tram and train) for about £14 , there may be a similar scheme in place. Where i am there is automatic criteria which entitles you to the free bus pass, otherwise its if you would otherwise be medically disqualified from driving

DX2...i need to move to Scotland! Proving hell to get a free pass as my GP doesn't feel she can fill it in so says my Psych must, however i get the feeling when i next see the psych my diagnosis may change  But i can get a discounted one so i really should moan. :)

I was amazed when I discovered I can go any place in Scotland anytime. Thought it would just be whithin the council area, probably would save the local authority ALOT.
